About the Program
Launched on July 2, 2024, the CSEMS Whole Blood Program streamlines the distribution of Low-Titer Type O+ Whole Blood and specialized administration equipment to strategic sites and ambulances throughout the region. Managed by the CSEMS Foundation, the program partners with local agencies to:
Coordinate Logistics: Establish preferred staging points and provide essential medical equipment.
Ensure Excellence: Facilitate comprehensive provider training to optimize patient outcomes.
Maintain Compliance: Manage mandatory data reporting for the FDA and regional blood banks.
Expand Access: Improve community access to advanced pre-hospital healthcare.
Results
Since its inception, participating EMS providers have successfully administered dozens of life-saving blood units. These interventions have fundamentally transformed patient trajectories, contributing hundreds of collective years to the lives of the community members we serve.
