Critical Incident Provider Support (CIPS) TeamEvery day, as EMS providers in our community, you step into situations that demand immense strength, skill, and compassion. You are often the first on scene during some of life's most tragic and demanding events. The weight of these experiences can be significant, and recognizing the impact on your well-being is paramount.
That's why the Critical Incident Provider Support (CIPS) Team is dedicated to offering vital resources tailored to your unique needs. Our services include Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) and Peer Support. Our Peer Support network is built on the understanding that sometimes, just having a safe and understanding space to process what you're going through can make all the difference. Our trained peers are fellow EMS professionals who have an intimate understanding of the challenges you face. We are here to provide that non-judgmental environment where you can explore the emotional impact of difficult calls, even if you can't quite articulate what you need. For immediate support, our confidential hotline is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can reach us anytime at 540-324-5083. To further support you, we also maintain a live document of local resources that providers can readily access. This document compiles contact information and details for various support services that you might find helpful. It's a dynamic resource, ensuring you have the most up-to-date information at your fingertips. Our goal with peer support is simple: to give every provider the space they need to work through whatever is on their mind. Whether you need a quiet moment to reflect, someone to listen empathetically, a distraction to clear your head, or simply the comfort of knowing you're not alone, we are here. We are happy to share space with you, offer a cup of coffee and a listening ear, or even arrange a visit with one of our calming equine partners – whatever feels right for you in that moment. Remember, seeking support is a sign of strength, not weakness. CISM and peer support are crucial tools for mitigating the effects of traumatic stress and ensuring the long-term well-being of our dedicated providers. We encourage you to reach out – we are here for you. Please click the links to connect with the CIPS Team and access our resources. We are ready to support you in any way we can! |
