Protocol Information
Effective January 2026, the Virginia Office of EMS announced new regional council designations. As part of this restructuring, the Central Shenandoah and Lord Fairfax regions have merged to form the new Region 3.
Regional Transition Overview
Administration: Region 3 is now administered by the Northern Virginia Emergency Response System (NVERS).
Organizational Shift: The Central Shenandoah EMS Council has transitioned into the Central Shenandoah EMS Foundation. In this new capacity, we remain dedicated to serving our community, local agencies, and EMS providers.
Protocol Status
As NVERS works to unify the new region, the Central Shenandoah EMS Council Protocols will remain in effect and available for use until a consolidated set of Region 3 protocols is officially published.
