Central Shenandoah EMS Council is a 501(c)3 charitable organization serving a mission to cultivate and support our region's EMS agencies and providers as they provide excellent  emergency care to all people in need.  CSEMS serves as one of 11 designated Emergency Services Councils by the Virginia Board of Health, and is home to one of 4 Regional Offices of the Virginia Department of Health, Office of Emergency Medical Services. Central Shenandoah EMS Council serves a population of nearly 300,000 people, over 1,800 certified EMS providers, and 52 licensed EMS agencies in the Counties of Augusta, Bath, Highland, Rockbridge, and Rockingham and the Cities of Buena Vista, Harrisonburg, Lexington, Staunton and Waynesboro. The EMS Council is also one of the largest American Heart Association Training Centers, and offers additional programs from the Emergency Care and Safety Institute and the National Association of EMTs.
